St Thomas Aquinas stays in the #1 spot on the backs of 2 good wins to start the season including the 38-7 blasting of an elite American Heritage team. The two top 5 Texas teams, Allen and Cedar Hill, took care of business with solid wins to stay in their spots. The two perennial powers from Miami, Booker T. Washington and Central, move into the top 5. Central has two impressive road wins although their opening win over Hoover is not looking as impressive as the Buccaneers have started 0-2. These two will battle this week to see who has bragging rights for the next year in the 305. I give the slight edge to Booker T. but I would not be surprised at all to see Central leave with the victory. This will be one of the best games of the season. Desoto (TX), Mater Dei (CA), Buford (GA), Colquitt County (GA), Long Beach Poly (CA) all join the rankings this week thanks to some impressive early season wins.
