We had one of the biggest upsets of the year this past week with Bishop Montgomery losing to La Verne Lutheran in the state tournament semifinals. Bishop Montgomery is the only team to fall from the rankings this week. That opens a spot for Oak Hill to get back into the rankings. Now that Nate Britt is back they are definitely one of the best 20 teams in the country. St Benedict’s avenged their only loss of the season by beating Blairstown by 37. If St. Benedict’s would not have been looking ahead to their matchup with St Anthony earlier this year they would be undefeated and in the national title hunt. The CIF Southern Section 1AA finals are on Saturday which could be a potential meeting of #9 Mater Dei and #11 Long Beach Poly. Poly must get past a very good Etiwanda team on Tuesday first.
