Mater Dei vs St. John Bosco
The rematch to see who the best team in California is. The first game was far from pretty but Mater Dei got the job done thanks to Bosc turnovers. If Re-al Mitchell runs way more than he throws Bosco gets the job done. We think he learned from the first game and wont make the mistakes this time.
Mater Dei 27 – St. John Bosco 31

Mill Creek at Grayson
With all due respect to Roswell these are the 2 best teams in Georgia. It is a shame this game is not being played on a neutral field. Mill Creek is winning the trash talk right now thanks to @CreeksFreeks but the Grayson defense should be the difference in this game. The Rams get the close win and head to the Dome.
Mill Creek 17 – Grayson 24

Hoover vs McGill-Toolen
The Alabama 7A championship game is about as close as it gets. Why this game is being played on Wednesday is baffling. Hovver has two losses but they are out of state losses to the #5 and #9 teams in the country. McGill-Toolen is undefeated but hasn’t played an out of state game. The game comes down to Mcgill-Toolen’s offense vs Hoover’s defense. Luckily for MGT it looks like the rain is going to stop a few hours before game time so their passing attack should be full go. We have the Jackets winning a close one.
Hoover 17 – McGill-Toolen 20

Freedom vs De La Salle
Can the De La Salle defense stop the explosive Freedom offense. DLS has had trouble with teams that can run the ball effectively this year and Ronnie Rivers has been running well. Freedom should be able to score just enough to bring home the NCS crown.
Freedom 34 – De La Salle 31

St. Mary’s vs Folsom
Both teams have a loss on the season but St. Mary’s was to #10 St. John Bosco while Folsom lost to a bad Sacremento team. Both teams have explosive offenses so this should be a shootout. Dusty Frampton’s funning will be the difference in the game.
St. Mary’s 49 – Folsom 45

Desoto vs Cedar Hill
Another rematch of a game played earlier this year. Desoto won the first game 33- 18. If we have learned anything these playoffs its that the team that won the regular season game is vunerable in the playoffs. That being said we still think Desoto will win the rematch. It will be great to see Shawn Robinson vs Avery Davis on the field against each other one last time. We got Robinson marching on to the 6A-DII semifinals.
Desoto 38 – Cedar Hill 31

Lake Travis vs Westlake
Yet another rematch but unlike most regular season game the one between Lake Travis and Westlake means nothing. Westlake was missing Texas commit QB Sam Ehlinger and starting RB Nakia Watson in the first matchup. Lake Travis has won 9 straight over the Chaparrals. This game is going to be a war as Westlake will be fired up to end the losing streak.

***Edit – With the news that Sam Ehlinger is out Westlake will struggle to keep it close. It’s a shame as it would have been great to see these rivals to play at full strength.
Lake Travis 44 – Westlake 17

Bishop Gorman vs Liberty
Liberty is a good team but they are no match for Bishop Gorman. We just included this game to say it will be very hard for the Gaels to lose the national title unless they really lay an egg in this game. We expect Tate Martell to put a big exclamation point on his great HS career.
Bishop Gorman 49 – Liberty 27

St. Ignatius vs St. Xavier
Is St. Xavier a team of destiny? They have won thier last 3 playoff games either in OT or by 2 points after a 4th quarter comeback last week. The Bombers have lost 5 games this year the last of which was 5 weeks to St. Ignatius. We think the luck runs out and the Wildcats take home the Ohio D1 Championship.
St. Ignatius 28 – St. Xavier 24

Paramus Catholic vs St. Peter’s Prep
Paramus won the regular season game 28-21 at home. SPP is playing better right now. As with most of the NJ private school games this year there is no telling who will win. They all have beat each other. We like the Paladins to pull out another close win.
Paramus Catholic 28 – St. Peter’s Prep 24

Norman North vs Union
Norman North burst on the national scene with their win over Union in mid October. That game was at home and they got some big turnovers to get the win. Union will be determined to avenge another loss this week after taking down rival Jenks 45-21 in the semifinals. This is a neutral site game so we expect Union to take home the Oklahoma 6A-1 title.
Norman North 24 – Union 31

Clinton vs Pearl
This game simply comes down to Clinton has Cam Akers and Pearl doesn’t. Akers looks determined not to lose and wants to hoist the Mississippi 6A title to end his career.
Clinton 21 – Pearl 17

Pomona vs Valor Christian
Pomona has not lost to a team from Colorado this year and they went on the road to beat Valor Christian earlier this year. We expect the Panthers to bring home the Colorado 5A title.
Pomona 23 vs Valor Christian 21

North Little Rock vs Fayetteville

Fayetteville beat North Little Rock by 39 last year. While that should provide great motivation for the Charging Wildcats (GREAT Mascot) we don’t think they have made up the difference in 1 year.
North Little Rock 27 vs Fayetteville 35

Brentwood Academy vs Montgomery Bell Academy
Brentwood won when these two met for the state title last year. Montogmery Bell won the regular season game this year. We will take our chances with Ty Chandler bringing home the Tennessee DII-AA title.
Brentwood Academy 27 vs Montgomery Bell Academy 31
