#2 IMG at #25 Oxbridge Academy
This Thursday night game is the only one between two Top 25 teams this week. IMG will travel down to West Palm Beach to take on an undefeated Oxbridge Academy team. IMG has been off since September 23 so they should be well rested although they could be a little rusty as well. Oxbridge has a couple of nice wins this year over Flanagan and Carol City but they have not faced anyone the caliber of IMG. The Thunderwolves are led by a stout defense that has yet to give up more than 7 points this year. They have 5 seniors who will be playing for FCS schools next year and that doesnt include thier best player 2018 DB C.J. Smith. While the defense should be able to hold its own the Thunderwolves offense will have trouble scoring against the IMG defense. This game could be close at the half but IMG has shown they are willing to run QB Kellen Mond as much as it takes to get the win. The Crusaders should be able to wear the Thunderwolves down in the second half and get the win.

Miami Central at Miami Northwestern
This battle of Florida District 6-16A rivals is sort of a playoff game for each. The loser of the game will put themselves in bad shape to advance to the state playoffs. Both could make it depending on the outcome of the Carol City-Northwestern game in a few weeks but the winner is definitely in. The other crazy part about this game is it’s Central’s last regular season game so if they lose their season is over. Northwestern has been the much more consistent team this year with it’s only loss coming to #10 American Heritage by 2 points. Central has been as up and down as any team in the country. This game will come down to who can run the ball better. Northwestern may be the better team but they do not have the better running game and we will go with the team that has its back against the wall.

#3 Dematha at Gonzaga
This is a game Dematha has been thinking about for a year. They were ranked #1 in the country heading into their game with Gonzaga last year and suffered their only loss of the season. They did not get a chance to avenge their loss in the WCAC playoffs last year as Gonzaga went down to Good Counsel. This year the teams are in a similar position as Dematha is ranked #3 and Gonzaga is trying to play spoiler. The game will be played at Gonzaga so they will have the home field advantage. Dematha is also a little banged up as stud QB Beau English missed the game last week with an ankle injury. He is expected to play this week and that is good news for the Stags. They will need his leadership in what is sure to be a tough game and environment. The Stags defense will have to come up big and stop Tyree Randolph in this one. We could see this game playing out very similarly to the Dematha-St John’s game from a few weeks ago. Expect a low scoring affair but with the revenge factor in their favor expect Dematha to pull out a close win.
