With the playoffs in full effect we finally had some upsets that shook up the rankings this week. #4 Desoto and #14 Hoover escaped with wins to keep their seasons alive. Manatee, Colerain and Cass Tech were not as lucky. Dematha (DC), North Shore (TX) and Edna Karr (LA) jump in the rankings this week. It is a return visit for Dematha and Karr who were ranked earlier this season. Booker T. Washington continued to show why its the best team in the country. The Arizona playoffs were delayed due to weather so both of those teams play today.

1) Booker T. Washington(12-0) – Miami, FL – The Tornadoes showed why they are the #1 team in the country by soundly beating a very good University team 45-17.
2) Allen (12-0) – Allen, TX – Defeated Horn 42-14
3) Central (10-1) – Miami, FL – Defeated Dillard 59-14
4) Desoto (11-0) – Desoto, TX – Escaped with a last minute 34-30 win over Coppell.
5) St. Joseph’s Regional (9-0) – Montvale, NJ – Defeated previously unbeaten Red Bank Catholic 28-7. Next up is a Thanksgiving day showdown with Don Bosco Prep.
6) St. John Bosco (12-0) – Bellflower, CA – Continued rolling with a 55-7 victory over Tesoro.
7) Mountain Pointe (12-0) – Phoenix, AZ – Game was postponed until later today due to bad weather.
8 ) Northwestern (13-0) – Rock Hill, SC – Scored another big win over York. this time it was 39-7. The path to the state title became a little bit easier with Goose Creek losing.
9) Junipero Serra (12-0) – Gardena, CA – Defeated Buena 40-6
10) Katy (12-0) – Katy, TX – Scored another easy win over Cypress Woods 51-7. It would be really nice if Katy was in 5A D1 so we could see how truly great they are.
11) Miramar (11-0) – Miramar, FL – Destroyed previously undefeated Deerfield Beach 43-12. The path to the 8A title opened up for them when previously ranked Manatee got up set by Central (Fort Pierce)
12) De La Salle (11-0) – Concord, CA – Defeated Granada 46-0
13) Byrnes (12-1) – Duncan, SC – The Rebels offense keeps marching on in a 63-21 win over Lexington.
14) Hoover (13-0) – Hoover, AL – Drop a few spots after barely getting past Florence 22-21. Now face Vestavia Hills for the second time this year in the state semifinals. They won the first meeting 17-7.
15) Bellevue (12-0) – Bellevue, WA – Actaully had a closer than normal game in a 48-27 win over Peninsula.
16) Salpointe Catholic (12-0) – Tucson, AZ – Another Arizona playoff game that was delayed due to weather. Will play Deer Valley later today.
17) Mallard Creek (13-0) – Charlotte, NC – Defeated Providence 42-27
18) Jenks (12-0) – Jenks, OK – Bounced back with an easy 33-14 win over Midwest City.
19) Bishop Gorman (11-2) – Las Vegas, NV – Defeated Arbor View 52-7
20) Carroll (11-1) – Southlake, TX – Defeated Midland Lee 51-7. Face a very good Trinity team this week.
21) Dematha (11-1) – Washington D.C. – Reenter the rankings after completing their season with a 31-10 win over St. John’s to bring home the WCAC title. Their only loss of the season was to #4 St. Joseph Regional
22) Blue Springs (13-0) – Blue Springs, MO – Defeated Eureka 42-14. Only a 5 loss Rock Bridge team stands between them and an undefeated state title season.
23) Folsom (11-0) – Folsom, CA – Defeated Franklin 49-16
24) North Shore (12-0) – Houston, TX – Defeated Hightower 61-0. The Mustangs appear to be the best team in Houston, with Lamar being a close second, although we should know for sure in two weeks.
25) Edna Karr (11-1) – New Orleans, LA – Defeated Crowley 55-6. Have bounced back nicely since the early season loss to John Curtis
