Week 17 is in the books and that means there is only one week left in the high school football season. There are only state title games in Texas and the Geico Bowl games left in the season. Those games will have a big impact on the final rankings but they won’t determine the national champ. Mater Dei locked that up with an impressive win over De La Salle in the California Open final. The Monarchs finish off an impressive undefeated season. IMG was inthe discussionut them losing two Top 25 games due to the hurricane made it tough for them.
There were two upsets this week in Texas. Katy and Westlake fell to Lake Travis and Cy-Fair respectively. Those losses opened up two spots in this week’s rankings. Chandler (AZ) and Folsom (CA) enter the rankings this week. Chandler will get a chance to prove their ranking when they take on Miami Northwestern in the Geico game. Folsom completed an undefeated season with an impressive 49-42 win over a very good Helix team.
