Week 8 is here and it is definitely highlighted by the Mid-Atlantic region with the game of the week coming to us from Baltimore where IMG will travel to play St. Frances Academy. This game will likely determine the best team east of the Mississippi this year. IMG still has a chance at a national title as well but an impressive win here is paramount. Five of the seven experts this the home team comes out on top this week.
The WCAC has two big games this week as the top 4 teams all face each other. Good Counsel comes off their epic 5 OT win and hosts St. John’s. The Cadets will be looking to put their out of state losses behind them now that the conference schedule is here. Gonzaga will be looking to bounce back from their heartbreaking loss to the Falcons against Dematha. The Stags will be looking for revenge of their playoff loss last year.
Down in Florida St. Thomas Aquinas will try to keep their national title hopes alive when they take on Deerfield Beach. This game may look like a mismatch based on rankings, but the Bucks have looked like an entirely different team with Tulane commit Michael Pratt back at QB. We expect this game to be closer than expected. There is another St. Thomas Aquinas in the picks this week and they are in a battle of the #1 ranked 5A and 4A teams in Kansas. The Saints not to be confused with the Raiders take on Bishop Miege. The experts are pretty split on who will take that one.
Elsewhere we have a couple of big games in Georgia, a battle of unbeatens in South Carolina, The battle for 3rd in the Trinity League and even a game from New York. Don’t agree with the picks?
