Prep Force 2018 National High School Football Rankings – Week 4

We normally say the previous week is in the books when we do the rankings but that isn’t the case this week. One of our top 25 teams, #19 Good Counsel, had their game against Mount St. Joseph postponed until today due to bad weather on Friday. We expect the Falcons to win so we are doing the rankings now. As far as the games that were played there was an all time classic played yesterday. #2 St. John’s College beat new #10 Miami Central 37-34 in 5 overtimes. The game was messy at times due to the rain, but that isn’t going to stop it from being considered the game of the year and possibly one of the greatest high school football games ever played between elite teams. The game ended in spectacular fashion as Rakim Jarrett made a one handed TD catch to put the icing on the cake. In most polls when a team loses they drop. We think that is garbage. The Rockets actually move up one spot this week in our polls. Any team that can go on the road and play virtually even with one of the best teams in the country does not deserve to be penalized. Besides Miami Central all the top 25 teams won this week so there is not a lot of movement. There is one new team in the rankings this week and that is Mentor. The Cardinals are showing that they are one of the best teams in Ohio.

This week is highlighted with one of the biggest games of the season as far as national title hopes are concerned when #5 IMG travels to DC to take on #2 St. John’s. This will be a tough bounce back position for the Cadets after this week’s game. Let’s just hope the game is half as good as the one yesterday. There are also some big games in New Jersey and Texas. Check out who the experts pick in those games plus the other Top 10 games of the week in the Pickem Contest later this week.
