Week 6 is in the books and we have a new #1 team. Mater Dei takes over the top spot after St. John Bosco had trouble with JSerra to open Trinity League play. JSerra is a tough team and by far the toughest team the Braves played all season. Regardless of who is #1 right now it will ultimately be settled on the field between the rivals. Only one previously ranked team lost this week, St. Peter’s Prep, so that opened the spot for Gonzaga to get in the rankings ahead of their big game with #21 Good Counsel. There were a couple of fringe teams that show up in the other major rankings that lost including Bingham and Wekiva.
There are a couple of matchups of ranked teams this week. The aforementioned Good Counsel-Gonzaga battle. Also this week #12 ST. Thomas Aquinas takes on #24 Deerfield Beach.
