The regular season is winding down in some states while the playoffs are starting in others. That means this week is filled with rivalry games and rematches from earlier in the season. We have 3 games from Ohio this week. It’s the opening week of the playoffs and all 3 games are rematches. Colerain, St. Ignatius and Moeller won the regular season games. Most of the experts have gone with Colerain and St. Ignatius to win again, but we are split on the Moeller versus Elder game. Wolsey-Wessington and Bon Homme meet in the South Dakota 9AA state semifinals. While this in a semifinal game, these are widely considered the two best teams in the state. They met earlier this year with the Warbirds winning in double overtime.

The rest of the games this week are final week regular season games. In Georgia Colquitt County is looking to stay undefeated against Lowndes in a makeup game. The Packers will not only be looking to win the Region 1-7A title, but also revenge for last years loss. The Vikings still have a shot at the title as well with a win. In Florida a couple teams currently ranked #1 in their class meet when 4A University School meets 3A Chaminade-Madonna. In New Orleans the possible two best teams in 4A meet when Edna Karr and Warren Easton meet. The Cougars have dominated the matchup recently including last year’s state semifinal game. In Arkansas rivals Conway and Bryant meet in what should be another classic. Both teams only have 1 loss on the season and that is to state #1 North Little Rock. The Hornets won last year so the Wampus Cats will be looking for revenge. There is one out of state matchup this week. IMG travels to Alabama to take on Hoover. This is the second year in a row the two powerhouses will meet. IMG won year 32-21 and 7 of the experts think they will do the same this year.
