Week 7 is in the books and with 3 ranked teams losing this week we have 3 new teams. Two of the teams that lost this week, Gonzaga and Deerfield Beach, lost to other ranked teams so they were no surprise. St. Thomas Aquinas and Good Counsel both move up thanks to those wins. Pickerington Central was the shock of the week. The Tigers blew a game they were winning by 2 touchdowns very late. JSerra makes the highest debut coming in at #15. They probably should have been ranked last week after their close loss to St. John Bosco. That makes 3 Trinity League teams in the top 15 in what is clearly the toughest league in the country once again. Also in the rankings this week are American Heritage, who’s only loss of the year is to #5 Carol City. Broken Arrow is the last new team. The Tigers are clearly the best team in Oklahoma this year.

This coming week is by far the best week of the season for local games. None bigger than the matchup of #1 vs #2 Mater Dei and St. John Bosco. This is a huge matchup every year but this might be the biggest one yet. At least until a possible playoff rematch. Also in the Trinity League this week JSerra takes on a good Orange Lutheran team. There is another big matchup in DC between #3 St. John’s College and #19 Good Counsel. The winner of this game has the inside track to the WCAC regular season title. Also in the WCAC this week Dematha and Gonzaga in a big time rivalry game. Another big rivalry game is going down in Ft. Lauderdale when American Heritage and Cardinal Gibbons meet.
