Thiyo Lukusa is a big offensive tackle from Michigan weighing about 300 pounds and standing 6’5″. The two big in-state schools, Michigan and Michigan State, are coming after him very hard and Lukusa had positive things to say about both schools when we recently caught up with him.

 

Q: What is it about Michigan that stands out to you?

A: “It’s a great school. They have a great tradition.”

Q: What kind of relationship do you have with Coach Hoke and his staff?

A: “The relationship is very, very good.”

Q: What was different about Michigan than when you went on your Michigan State visit?

A: “The family feel. It definitely set the bar high, but I haven’t taken too many visits yet.”

Q: At what point would you like to make your final decision?

A: “I’d love to come to a final decision by the end of the summer, but it will probably be after football season.”

Q: Would you label Michigan as a favorite or a leader at this point?

A: “I like Michigan, but I like other schools too.”

Q: What’s been your favorite part of the recruiting process so far?

A: “I really like going to the basketball games. It has also made me focus more and mature.”
