Week 5 is the first week of the year where none of the top 5 are in the top 10 games of the week. Don’t let that fool you as week 5 is stacked with great more traditional rivalry games. The interstate matchups were fun but these games between teams that know and hate each other is what high school football is all about. Check out our Twitter @PrepForce1 to vote on who you think will win each game this week.

#7 Miami Central at #11 Booker T. Washington
The battle for Miami has been a must see game for years now. Miami Central will travel to Traz Powell Stadium to take on Book T. Washington. The Central Rockets are undefeated on the year but haven’t played a tough opponent yet. They sturggled in their last game but that was due to QB Tijuane Morten being suspended. The backfield of Morten, James Cook and Willie Davis means the Rockets can score in a flash which they have been doing often this year. It’s hard to pass on Booker T. but their run defense was a little suspect in their win over St. Thomas Aquinas. QB Daniel Richardson will be able to pass the ball and make some plays with his legs for the F5 Tornadoes. This game will be close and ultimately the team that makes more mistakes will lose. We trust the team with the better run game to be able to pull this one out in the end.

#22 Desoto at #9 Cedar Hill
We follow up the battle for Miami with the battle of South Dallas. Unlike the first game Desoto and Cedar Hill are in the same district which makes this game even more important. Unfortunately this game is not going to be played at full strength as it looks like Cedar Hill QB Avery Davis will be out with an ankle injury he suffered a few weeks ago. The Longhorns should still be able to move the ball behind back quarterback Garret McGuire. The problem is the Desoto is lead by TCU commit Shawn Robinson. Robinson is a true duel threat quarterback that has lead the Eagles to 147 points in 3 games this year. Both teams had a bye week to prepare for this game so we expect there to be a little defense played. If Davis was playing (we are hoping he can) we would go with the Longhorns but we think the Eagles can pull out a close game on the road.

Liberty at #12 Centennial

We have a feeling this interstate battle between the #3 ranked team in California and the #2 ranked team from Nevada might be the most exciting game of the week. Liberty is on the verge of being ranked in our top 25 and Centennial is ranked #12. Libery are has an impressive out of state win this year when they went to Texas and beat previously ranked Westlake. Centennial has by far the best loss of the season which was their 1 point loss to #2 IMG. The question in this game is can the Liberty defense stop Tanner McKee and the Centennial offense enough times to win the game. We expect this game to be a shootout but we will go with the home team being able to score enough to pull this one out.
