Last week was another great week of high school football around the country. John Curtis showed why they were national champs last year as they pulled off a late upset victory over previous #5 Edna Karr. While the Patriots will not repeat as national champs thanks to a loss to St. Thomas Aquinas they are once again considered the best team in Louisiana which was not thought to be the case when the year started. Allen (TX) solidified their hold on the #2 spot with an easy victory over a very good Coppell team. Paramus Catholic moves into the top 5 thanks to their very impressive road win over St. Ignatius. Bishop Alemany (CA) and Blue Springs (MO) move into the rankings this week thanks to impressive back to back victories for both.

5) Paramus Catholic (4-0) – Paramus, NJ – We have been higher than everyone on the Paladins this season and this week showed why. They went to Cleveland and defeated St. Ignatius 44-10. The most impressive part of the win is that they played most of the game without superstar Jabrill Peppers. He left the game in the first quarter with a hip injury.

11) Hoover (4-0) – Hoover, AL – Drop a spot after the 17-7 win over Vestavia Hills. It was a nice win over a top 10 Alabama team but it was not a statement win by any means.

23) Salpointe Catholic (5-0) – Tucson, AZ – Took down another top 5 Arizona team with their impressive 40-7 win over Marcos de Niza.
24) Bishop Alemany (5-0) – Mission Hills, CA – The Warriors couldve easily made the rankings after last weeks 45-28 win over Centennial. They backed it up with a 38-24 win over St Bonaventure so we had no choice but to include them this week.
25) Blue Springs (5-0) – Blue Springs, MO – The top ranked team from Missouri cracks the rankings this week. The Wildcats have back to back wins over two of the better teams in Missouri with a 42-35 win over Lee’s Summit West and a 38-21 victory over Liberty.

Dropped Out –
5) Edna Karr – New Orleans, LA
21) Ensworth – Nashville, TN
