We knew there would be some shakeup in the rankings this week with a couple of ranked teams playing each other. Two of the previous top 10 ranked teams lost this past weekend. Manatee won the game of the week at home over University 28-24. North Gwinnett also lost in a slight upset to Collins Hill. St. Joseph’s Regional solidified their top 5 ranking with a win over Paramus Catholic. The cream is starting to rise to the top as the regular season is winding down. The two teams that dropped out of the rankings allowed Mallard Creek (NC) and Bishop Gorman to enter the rankings.

5) St. Joseph’s Regional (6-0) – Montvale, NJ – Got another big win with the 27-14 over Paramus Catholic. The road does not get much easier as the travel to Wayne, NJ this week to take on Depaul Catholic.
6) St. John Bosco (8-0) – Bellflower, CA – Defeated JSerra Catholic 48-7
7) Mountain Pointe (9-0) – Phoenix, AZ – Idle
8 ) Northwestern (9-0) – Rock Hill, SC – Defeated previously undefeated York 45-15.
9) Junipero Serra (8-0) – Gardena, CA – Seem to be rounding into form in time for the playoffs.
10) Manatee (9-0) – Bradenton, FL – Won the game of the week by overcoming an early 21-0 deficit to defeat University School 28-24. That alone is enough to vault them into the top 10.
11) Hoover (9-0) – Hoover, AL – Defeated Tuscaloosa County 41-0
12) Katy (8-0) – Katy, TX – Defeated Strake Jesuit 49-7
13) De La Salle (8-0) – Concord, CA – Defeated Amador Valley 63-14
14) Byrnes (8-1) – Duncan, SC – Defeated Mauldin 76-49. The offense continues to pour it on. They have scored 194 points in the last 3 games.
15) Colerain (9-0) – Cincinnati, OH – Defeated Middletown 49-10
16) Miramar (9-0) – Miramar, FL – Defeated Cypress Bay 38-2. One week after actually letting the opponent score the defense was back to pitch their 4th shutout in the past 5 games.
17) St. Thomas Aquinas (7-1) – Ft. Lauderdale, FL – Defeated Hollywood Hills 47-7. Now that we see how good Miramar the one loss on the season does not seem that bad.
18) Bellevue (8-0) – Bellevue, WA – Defeated Liberty 38-7
19) University School (8-1) – Ft. Lauderdale, FL – Lost the heart breaker at Manatee 28-24 but this is still one of the best teams in the country.
20) Cass Tech (9-0) – Detroit, MI – Defeated King 20-14. The close win warrants a drop especially when you look at the resumes of the teams above them.
21) Salpointe Catholic (9-0) – Tucson, AZ – Defeated Ironwood Ridge 48-9. The Aztecs still have not allowed more than 9 points all season.
22) Jenks (8-0) – Jenks, OK – Defeated Muskogee 56-14
23) Mallard Creek (9-0) – Charlotte, NC – Defeated. A.L. Brown 49-7. The Mavericks haven’t played a great schedule but they have been dominant in every game after week 1 this season.
24) Bishop Gorman (7-2) – Las Vegas, NV – Defeated Bonanza 79-0. I’m sure there will be calls of bullying after a score like that. The Gaels have lost 2 games on the year but they are to the #1 and #7 teams in the country.
25) Blue Springs (9-0) – Blue Springs, MO – Defeated Lee’s Summit 49-7

Dropped Out:
9) North Gwinnett – Suwanee, GA
24) Ensworth – Nashville, TN
