Another week in the rankings another top 5 falls. This week it was St. Edward (OH) falling to Elder (OH). To show you what a crazy year it has been so far check out this round robin of games. Elder beat St. Edward, McDonogh (MD) beat Elder, St. Joseph Regional (NJ) beat McDonogh, and St. Edward beat St. Joseph Regional. That leaves all 4 teams with 1 loss each to one another. St. Edward drops to #20 but stays in the rankings as they seem to best team of the 4. The only other ranked team to lose was Long Beach Poly. That loss allowed undefeated Moeller (OH) to move into the rankings. Moeller has a favorable schedule with Elder, St. Ignatius and St. Edward all being home games later in the season. This could allow them to shoot up in the final rankings if they can finish the season undefeated. Check back next week as there will be some shakeups in the rankings as #4 St. John Bosco goes to Las Vegas to play Bishop Gorman. There are also a number of ranked teams playing teams that are just outside the rankings with De La Salle vs. Servite and Colquitt County taking on Lowndes.
