What a weekend of high school football. We had a potential game of the year that was never that close and that leaves us with a new #1 team in the polls. Centennial (CA) played what could be described as the perfect half of football while rushing out to a 55-31 first half lead over St. John Bosco (CA). That domination means the Huskies are the easy choice for the top spot this week. Their season is not over though as they have to head to Sacramento this weekend to play #7 De La Salle (CA) in a rematch of last years CIF Open Bowl final won by the Spartans. Allen (TX) had an impressive 48-27 win over previous #23 Ryan (TX) to move up to #2 this week. Bishop Gorman wrapped up another Nevada state title but falls to #3. The Gaels will have a chance to move up depending what happens with the possible end of season ESPN game. There are 4 new teams in the rankings this week. Trinity Christian Academy debuts the highest at #18 after winning the Florida 3A title in impressive fashion. Steele (TX) and Miami Central (FL) enter the rankings as they continue their state playoffs with impressive wins. Jenks (OK) reenters the rankings this week after avenging their only loss of the season over Broken Arrow as they won the Oklahoma 6A title.
