State tournaments are heating up around the country and they provided a few ranked team going down this week. Etiwanda, who was previously ranked this season, pulled off two great wins this week in their march to the CIF Southern Section Div. 1AA title and is now ranked #13. They took down previous #9 Mater Dei and previous #11 Long Beach Poly. Both of those teams are still ranked and start play in the CIF Open Division this week. Poly and Mater Dei could meet in the quarter finals with the winner to face Etiwanda if Etiwanda doesn’t get upset. DeSoto lost to a good Hebron team in the Texas playoffs but Texas then lost to South Grand Prairie which cost them a spot in the rankings. Oak Hill falls from the rankings this week as well. The losses have piled up for the Warriors this season thanks in part to injuries.
