There are no new teams in the rankings this week but there was some movement amongst the teams thanks to the California playoffs. Mater Dei will end the season as the highest ranked team from California thanks to their wins over Long Beach Poly and Etiwanda this past week. The still have the state title game against Archbishop Mitty and Aaron Gordon this week but they have show they are the supreme team in Southern California this year regardless of what happens in that game. Poly drops but does stay in the rankings because of their great wins throughout the season. The other great new announced this week was the announcement of the teams playing in this years National High School Invitational at Georgetown Prep. It will include 7 of the best prep schools in the country and a Florida’s best public school. The participants are #1 Findlay Prep, #2 Prime Prep, #3 Montverde Academy, #6 St. Benedict’s Prep, #7 La Lumiere, #18 Montros Christian and unranked Oak Hill and Blanche Ely (Pompano Beach, FL). It’s a shame they couldn’t get Lone Peak as the last team since most consider them one of the best in the country but finally we get a potential matchup of Findlay and Prime Prep. Let’s hope we get a Findlay vs Montverde rematch since the last two games between the two have been instant classics. Check back once the brackets are announced for our preview of the tournament.
